Berkeley Estates & Management is an independent property management and estate agency based in Bristol, founded by former professional footballer Joe Burnell.

Joe created Berkeley Estates & Management after becoming frustrated with the traditional estate agency model, particularly high fees, impersonal service and a lack of transparency. His vision was to build a modern, technology led property business that combines the personal service of a local independent agent with the efficiency and transparency of the latest property technology.

After years of developing, testing and refining our approach, we provide comprehensive property management, lettings, sales and serviced accommodation services across Bristol.

Joe founded Berkeley Estates & Management, an independent Bristol estate agency, following a major career change after completing his career as a professional footballer. Having spent years as a tenant, Joe experienced first hand many of the frustrations and challenges that can come with traditional estate agencies and property management. This experience inspired him to create a more straightforward, service focused approach to property. Today, Joe combines his experience as a tenant, property manager and property investor, giving him a unique perspective across the property industry. Having seen the sector from multiple sides, he understands what landlords, tenants and property owners really need from a modern Bristol estate agency and is always happy to share his knowledge and market insight. At Berkeley Estates & Management, Joe is focused on delivering a high quality, personal service while continually looking for ways to improve the business and create greater value for clients. Away from property, Joe balances his time with family life and his passion for golf. His entrepreneurial mindset and hands on experience continue to drive his ambition to build a trusted estate agency in Bristol that puts people, service and long term value at the heart of everything it does.

Finley joined Berkeley Estates & Management on a full time basis in June 2025 after completing his A-Level studies. With a strong interest in media, marketing and the property industry, he brings fresh ideas, enthusiasm and a forward thinking approach to the team. Passionate about learning and professional development, Fin is committed to building his skills while contributing to the continued growth of the business. He approaches every task with energy and determination, taking on new challenges with a willingness to learn and develop his knowledge. As part of a forward thinking Bristol estate agency, Fin is particularly interested in how digital marketing, media and online communication can help connect property businesses with landlords, tenants and homeowners. His curiosity and creative mindset make him a valuable addition to the team. Outside of work, Fin plays football to a high standard and enjoys spending quality time with his family.

Ryan joined Berkeley Estates & Management in 2014, beginning his career as a lettings negotiator before progressing through the business to now running the company day to day. Over the years, Ryan has developed extensive experience across residential lettings, property management and the Bristol property market. His career progression reflects his strong work ethic, commitment to clients and genuine curiosity about the ever changing property industry. Ryan holds a Level 3 Residential Letting & Property Management (RLPM) qualification and is a registered member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA). These professional credentials complement his practical, hands on experience and provide a strong foundation for advising landlords, tenants and property owners. Ryan combines his in depth knowledge of Bristol property management and residential lettings with a focus on delivering a professional, responsive and personal service.
